Introduction
| Sitio Cafune
is located 12 km from the centre of Itacare, just off the main road between
Itacare and Ilheus, and is situated between the entrances to Jeribucacu,
Engenhoca, Havaizinho and Itacarezinho beaches. The sitio covers an area
of approximately eight hectares, about six hectares of which is Atlantica
forest. A trail and bridge crossing the Piabas River are contained within
the property, and the trail leads to a small and charming waterfall. It’s
a quiet and secure place, with an ocean view of Jeribucacu`s beach, a
caretaker, and an electronic gate. The best ocean view is from our "Lazy
Corner's Gazebo", where you can lie in one of the hammocks and relax…
by yourself, or with your friends and family.
The walk on the trail offers an experience of the Atlantica Forest in its original state, virtually unchanged since before the Portuguese came to Brazil’s shores over 500 years ago. Near the bridge over the Piabas River there is a wooden deck on which one can admire the forest and the slow running river water. An area has been set up specifically to accommodate picnics and barbecues. In addition to the four houses located at Sitio Cafune, we also offer rental options for a house in the centre of Itacare. Sao Miguel's House contains four bedrooms, and is well suited for larger groups. |
